Salem

We went to Salem on a road trip. It's about a half an hour north of Boston. Lots of creepy intriguing history in this place. You know, haunted houses, graveyards, the witch trials, or the witch hysteria as the locals call it. Grave site of some notable town figures. Like the actual grave sites. From the mid 1600s..

The Leafers

I kind of feel like the tourists that come to New England when the trees turn. It wasn't the reason for our trip, but the trees are turning. It's fascinating really. I've seen some unnaturally vibrant colors.

Nature

Walking along a trail I noticed the view. Just needed a sail boat out there lol. Very Nantucket/Cape Cod like really.

Location, Location, Location

At Plimouth Plantation they have mock villages and actors portraying life back in the mid/late 1600s from the English colonists' and Wompanog natives' perspective. It's actually really neat. This English colony was a good representation apparently. Funny though, the higher up this hill you went, the bigger the houses and the better the view.. hmm..

Mayflower v2.0

You can't see much of her but what you can see is the back part of the Mayflower II, a replica of the... Mayflower. It's quite a bit smaller than I would have imagined. Conditions were terrible in the original Mayflower's 1620 voyage. Not sure I could have done it, but I am sure as hell thankful those 102 passengers did.

The Rock

So here it is. Plymouth Rock. Well actually there is a bunch of debate on if it is the actual rock or not. It has been moved a few times and they say it's been swapped out. I'm pretty certain its the right one, I mean look at the date-stamp people.

New State Building

Yes there is an Old State Building. This one is much more flashy. That is 23.5c gold leaf on the dome. I dunno, kinda vein but I'll be the first to tell you there's nothing wrong with that.

History

There is a lot of history in Boston. I always knew it, but never really realized it until seeing it in person. Neat.

And I Doubted the Weatherman

It was cold and rainy the whole morning. The weatherman said it would be sunny and 72 around noon. This picture was around 11:30 and guess what happened at noon? Clouds cleared and it warmed up like clockwork.

Good Morning

Well it is raining again. Took this picture from the balcony of the room. Certainly can see the trees changing colors. Quite picturesque really. My mother said it could be a puzzle.
